Setting up a German Router with Airtel Broadband Posted: 17 Jun 2011 05:10 AM PDT Quote: I am facing a problem in setting up this router which I bought and used in Germany. This router provided option to also configure it for other service providers. Make: Speedport W 700V Vendor:TCom, Germany Supports: ADSL, ADSL2+, supports external/internal modem both I contacted Airtel service persons but they are helpless. they say the don't know German but I think they should understand that the standard terms are not different in german & english. I also helped them in translation but of no use. While configuring it asks for parameters for: Proxy/registrar, Port address, stun server, internet telephone number. Airtel service guys are not able to provide the correct entries. They are also not able to tell me where is the problem. Can anyone help in this forum in setting up this router? Rakesh Kumar Quote: The only way around this is to overwrite the router's firmware, which is beyond most people's expertise, although the site I've linked to has some possible instructions if you can understand a bit of German.
Posted: 17 Jun 2011 05:08 AM PDT +1 cant make out anything from the damn menu icons at all. They all look the same. Have to slowly read below what each icon is and move ahead till you find what ur looking for. Anyways @ OP. Been a E71 user myself for a couple of years as well and its truly a gem. If you want a plain jane upgrade from your e71 without expecting much new, then the e6 is fine. The only upside of the e6 practically will be the addition of a touchscreen and a brilliant high pixel density screen. Any other cpu/ram upgrades have little value as there are few Symbian apps and the Symbian OS is ageing and cant really exploit the additional horsepower. Infact nokia has dropped the symbian platform and is shifting to windows phone 7 now. Not sure why you arent considering android seriously, but do check this phone out. Brilliant value at under 9k with a free jabra BT headset at letsbuy. And android apps can actually make your business phone more productive IMO. Been eyeing this myself, but cant really let go of the e71 yet. Samsung Galaxy Pro B7510 - Full phone specifications

Posted: 17 Jun 2011 05:00 AM PDT First, you go and choose to install a 64 bit version which i had warned you as being a bit buggier and crash prone than the 32 bit one, on top of that you opted for KDE instead of Gnome which is the default for all Mint editions and easier to get around, and now, instead of restricting yourself to installing the software in the repos, you are trying to compile applications which come as default in the Gnome edition of Mint. It's a marvel to me that you haven't crashed your system yet, you are leading a charmed life indeed.
Subramanian swamy and corruption exposure Posted: 17 Jun 2011 04:59 AM PDT Excerpts; for full report 2G scam: Chidambaram as guilty as Raja, claims Subramanian Swamy : News: India Today *** Accusing Chidambaram of being involved in the 2G spectrum allocation scam, Swamy on Thursday alleged that the minister had received kickbacks and undervalued the spectrum cost. He also demanded that Chidambaram should be indicted as an additional accused in the case and demanded his resignation as the home minister. Swamy has already moved a special application in the Supreme Court in this connection. *** Noting that Chidambaram was the finance minister at the time of the scam, Swamy alleged that the move to undervalue 2G licenses was a joint decision of him along with then telecommunication minister A. Raja. "We have evidence now that P. Chidambaram had three separate meetings with A. Raja and decided on to grant 2G licences at 2001 prices. Chargesheet against Raja says that he is guilty because he fixed 2001 prices for the 2G spectrum, so Chidambaram too is guilty now," Swamy insisted. *** Swamy also accused Chidambaram of being guilty of promoting businesses of ineligible telecom players. Holding Chidambaram guilty on three counts, Swamy said Chidambaram should be prosecuted and sent to jail. "We have tape recordings of Niira Radia in which it is revealed that Chidambaram has received kickbacks. On all these three charges Chidambaram is guilty and he must go to jail. Why was this allowed? Chidambaram encouraged it. He is unfit to be the home minister. Therefore he should be removed and he should be prosecuted," Swamy said. ***
